Today, we are saying goodbye to a huge old oak tree from our yard. While it makes me sad to do it, we have no choice. Some of the branches are dead and the entire tree leans over our house. A few large branches also lean over our neighbors house. Not good. It was a disaster waiting to happen…
I dont know if any of you have ever experienced having a tree removed, so let me tell you it is LOUD. Sounds of thumps everywhere lead by the roaring of a chainsaw….
The tree wont be missed too much because I plan on reclaiming parts of its aged oak stump as sidetables and stools. Of course, there will be plenty of firewood too.
Naturally, I’m feeling a bit rustic today…

That lovely old tree will be recycled in many ways, I have a feeling, and his/her memories will live on!

Oh yes, rustic is nice – especially when mixed with refined.
I can’t wait to see the re-uses of your beloved Oak. Your magic mind will create beauty for sure.
