Hellos! Hope you had a good weekend and are refreshed for the coming week. I had a fantastic weekend which included a date night with my husband, friends engagement party, and two interiors related projects.
My husband painted the guestroom while I DIY-ed a headboard inspired by Grace for the queen bed in it. This room is in a sunless corner of the house {next to the guestbath} and the tired white walls needed cheer. So we decided on a lovely mustardy color with redish tones. The color looks awesome, and I am so happy how it much brighter and welcoming the room looks now.
For the headboard, I was initially fixated on a black and white print fabric. But a more black dominated fabric and the mustardy-orangy walls made the room too halloweeny so I changed my mind to a red and white print {very similar to the one Grace used} from Ikea. I had always wanted to create a fabric headboard but thought it would be a hassle to do and I was unsure of what it involved. Grace’s video on how to DIY a headboard is super helpful and it made this project so easy. It took approx. 8-10 hours including shopping for supplies and I was able to most of it myself. It looks fantastic and I am so proud of myself and thank Grace for creating and sharing this DIY. More details soon! Here’s a little peek.
More pics once I am done with the entire room.
Have a super week ahead! xoxo
LOVE the color combo! How fun and bet it feels sooo good to DIY it!
You are such a DIY genius!
Love the ‘saffron yellow’ against the red/white – so fresh and warm combo.
Can’t wait to see the rest of the pics. How exciting!
