Today, over at 2modern’s designtalk, I talked about Kenneth Cobonpue’s latest work – the bloom chair.
Spectacular!
This lounge chair is sculpted by hundreds of fine running stitches radiating from the center of the seat creating subtle textures. Invisible supports form shapes reminiscent of soft and graceful musical tones. The Bloom sits on top of a steel base which provides a good counterpoint to its playful organic form. Form and function at its best! With winter around the corner, I would totally love to cozy up in it. Love the color too!

What a wonderful chair! Love at first sight for me!!
Incidentally I did a post on ‘yellow’ yesterday – the colour is fantastic and my current craving!
Thanks for sharing.

I also loved the look of this chair, but I would like to see how it appears with someone sitting in it. How do those lovely ruffles survive being sat on? Do they spring back to shape when you get up again? If so, that would be just the thing as a feature chair. And patterning in the cloth, like veined petunia or stargazer lily http://bit.ly/aYiAUL would be ravishing too.
